Annual Report 2025-26

This document serves as our annual report for 2025 – 2026.

The trustees would like to thank everyone who has donated and given their support to Hilary’s Dream Trust (HDT) over this year. The Trust would not succeed without the continuing commitment and work of its trustees and supporters – thank you!

The trustees agreed to continue to fund Oceans of Hope UK with a grant of £5000. This year we have enabled Oceans of Hope UK to offer more free sailing opportunities than ever before. This included an opportunity for eight people to sail on Spirit of Scott Bader for five days free of charge.

Thirty-three people, three days of sailing in three big boats, free of charge with the Rona Sailing Project, a sail training charity.

Our funding to Oceans of Hope also enabled them to revisit Calvert Lakes in the Lake District and fund a fully accessible, fully catered, bed-and-breakfast for 40 people by subsidising the ticket price from just under £400 down to £175.

Robert Munns from Oceans of Hope states, “We firmly believe that there should be no barriers for people, and we try our very best to make sure that that happens, without your help, this would not be possible.”

This year we also received six individual applications for funding to participate in other Oceans of Hope sails. Three applications met our criteria and were approved.

Going forward - Our goal, as always in all our endeavours, is to help and support adults with disabilities and disabling conditions to experience sailing, achieve their sailing dreams, support their recovery and increase their resilience.
